This policy explains how Wardlist, a product of Carelsen Tech (Pty) Ltd ("we", "us"), handles personal information in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Information we collect
- Staff users: name, mobile number and role, used to create accounts and sign in via WhatsApp.
- Patient list data: information entered by the practice to manage ward visits. The practice remains the responsible party for this information; we process it on the practice's behalf as an operator.
- Technical data: basic logs (such as sign-in times) needed to keep the service secure and working.
How we use it
Only to provide and secure Wardlist: signing users in, sending sign-in and service messages over WhatsApp, and displaying patient lists to authorised staff. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
We use the WhatsApp Business Platform (Meta) to send sign-in codes and service messages to staff. Your mobile number is shared with WhatsApp for this purpose only.
Storage and security
Data is stored on secured servers with access restricted to authorised personnel. Information is kept only as long as needed to provide the service or as required by law.
Your rights
You may ask to access, correct or delete your personal information by emailing [email protected]. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
